What's Your “Right-Now” Priority?

Have you ever found yourself at the end of the day, feeling like you’ve been busy all day but have nothing to show for it?

What if I told you that the key to overcoming this productivity slump is not doing more but focusing on doing one thing right now?

How many things can you do at once? If you are multitasking, then nothing is getting your full attention.

Truly, you can only do one thing at any given moment. You might be working on three different tasks simultaneously, but each specific second of your action is only devoted to one of those three tasks.

To Effectively and Efficiently Use Time, We Need to Identify What's Necessary

Just think how much you could get done if you only did the necessary, essential, and important things.

Unfortunately, unnecessary and time-wasting activities fill much of our day. Some of these are by choice, and some are thrust upon us.

By identifying and understanding what is important, you could stop doing some of those time-wasting daily activities. That would give you more time to spend on the important things.

What is truly important in your daily life? For many of us, our shortsighted vision, busy schedules, outside influences, and distractions lead to an unclear and sometimes incorrect picture.

Much of our daily energy is spent on activities and with people that don't provide personal satisfaction or move us toward achieving our important goals.

We need to be asking ourselves the following questions:

At This Moment in Time, What Is My Most Important Priority?

There’s lots you could be doing. Some need to be accomplished soon. You need to prioritize. For example, if your list has five different tasks or activities, what is the all-important, necessary thing that needs to get done right now?

It might be boring and not the sexiest thing in the world, but it is a priority.

It could be something that you have to do rather than something you want to do. That doesn't matter. It needs to get done, and the sooner, the better.

To make the most efficient and effective use of your time, always ask yourself, “What should you be doing now?”

Answering this simple question honestly sets your priority and sets you on the path to positive results. It can also identify tasks and activities you've been spending unnecessary time doing or highlight how procrastination is dictating your schedule.

If the most important thing to do right now is boring, unenjoyable, or beyond your present skill set, then ask yourself, “Is there another way, or are there other people who can handle this task for you?

Revisit your important goals. Is there a way to remove this undesirable, mind-numbing activity from your schedule?

By asking these questions and taking positive actions to address them, you can start eliminating unnecessary activities and habits.

“Right-now” actions are influenced by your values, beliefs, and goals. Completing them leads to more quickly achieving the important things in life and your business.

Success is just one priority away!

Sharing tips and tricks that work for me.

I would love to hear what works for you.
